Howdy, my name is Jack Derickson. I am a graphic designer born and raised in the Midwest. I recently graduated from South Dakota State University with a B.F.A. in Graphic Design, minoring in Studio Arts, with certificates in Ceramics, Printmaking, and Art History.
My works communicate a love of exploration, both in design and execution. I find excitement in the unfamiliar, which is one of the reasons I am pursuing graphic design. Growing up in rural Minnesota, my exposure to art and design was somewhat limited. Though some think this can hinder an artist, I have found it to be beneficial. This disconnect allowed me to develop a unique and personal sense of design, setting myself apart from other designers.
My work has been awarded gold, silver, and Judge's Choice Awards for the American Advertising Awards at the regional, district, and national levels.
